About

I’m Ashley, an editor and writer. I was born and raised in southern California, but I currently live in New York, where I belong to First Baptist Church. Most importantly, I am a sinner saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ—deserving nothing, yet having everything.

I currently work as a book editor at Crossway. I studied classics at Columbia, where my primary interests were imperial Greek literature, first- and second-century Greece under the Roman empire, and religion and philosophy.

Here on my blog, I catalog the occasional musings and reflections of a Christian who also happens to be a writer interested in literature and theology in the ancient and modern worlds. I’m curious about the importance of place and the spiritual toll of living in the modern world. I write to refine my thinking, but I also hope my words will make my corner of the internet a little less hasty and a little more thoughtful.
